This crawlspace had damp earth from bround water seepage. By installing a perimeter drainage system to a SmartSump System & dimpled drainage matting under the encapsulatiion system - we were able to control the earth moisture & help prevent mold. Now these homeowners have a clean, dry, & healthy storage space!

We pulled out years of rodent carcasses, droppings, pine needle bedding, and pine cone food storage from this crawlspace. The earth was lightly regraded for the durable encapsualtion system. We boarded up the holes where rodents had chewed through, added copper wire mesh to and penetrations, and closed cell spray foamed 2" - 3" thick onto the perimeter rim assembly. The walls were already insulated with 2" foamboard, so we sealed the gaps between these as well and tied our floor liner into the 2" foamboard - which doubles as a wall liner to deflect foundation wall moisture down under the liner.

Sometimes during home rennovation projects, issues pop up - or rather spring up from the ground (as in ground water seepage). The source? possible leak in the water main or ground water seepage. Either way 1st things 1st - Fix ground water seepage. We installed a SmartSump sump pump system - discharging incoming water from the basement to the exterior - 10' away from the structure where it can water the lawn. This dirty crawlspace needed a complete makeover. This is the main reason for doing the crawlspace right the first time! A cheap solution to crawlspace problems is not cost effective when we have to tear everything out a few years later in order to remediate mold and rodent infestation. To effectively control the ground water we installed a drainage system to a new airtight SmartSump Pump System to discharge water 10' past the foundation on the exterior. Secondly, we installed drainage matting under our 20 mil cord reinforced CleanSpace Crawlspace Encapsulation System & properly fastened and sealed it around the perimeter and central footings. Lastly, we stuffed copper wire mesh and air sealed the perimeter rim assembly and subfloor penetrations and reinsulated the subfloor for protection against rodent intrusion and heat loss prevention. This would have been a lot easier if it was done right during construction, but now the homeowners rest assured their home is protected from the ground up!

This crawlspace had many intrusion points and air gaps where rodents were able to move in and out. This resulted in pine cones and destroyed insulation. We removed the debris and insulation. Then we sprayed a botanical disinfectant on all horizontal surfaces. To prevent the rodents from returning we screwed in blocks of wood to any larger holes, stuffed air gaps with copper wire mesh and spray foam. Lastly we encapsulated the earth and walls to shut down any ground water seepage & re-insulated the rim assembly to help prevent heat loss & save energy.

The TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System provides three levels of protection for your home and your peace of mind. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe™ has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller® ½ hp pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over. In case of a power outage, our UltraSump® battery backup sump pump, set at the highest level, will pump 11,500 gallons or more on a fully charged battery!
The ⅓ hp primary pump can discharge 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head, while the ½ hp secondary pump can discharge as much as 3,900 additional gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head. In the case of a tripped circuit, power outage, or sump failure, your TripleSafe™'s UltraSump® Battery Backup System will kick in. A second battery can be hooked up to a single system for an even longer running time. All told, this system provides the ultimate protection for homeowners who have had issues with water in their crawl space.

That's why we created the UltraSump 4 powerpack system, which assures continuous protection. In the event your primary AC system loses power, your battery backup system will engage and begin removing water from your crawl space. The UltraSump 4 can pump out up to 12,000 gallons of water on a fully charged battery, which is enough to fill a swimming pool!

Our sump pump systems include the following features:
- WaterWatch® Alarm: Sounds off to let you know if water has risen past the point where the pumps should have turned on.
- SuperLiner Sump Liner: Large enough to keep your sump pump working properly without turning on and off repeatedly, but not so large that your liner goes too deep, making your sump pump wear out prematurely as it pumps out unnecessary water.
- Airtight Sump Lid: An airtight lid keeps odors and humidity out while protecting your sump from debris. Rubber grommets around all pipes and wires help maintain the airtight lid and also help to keep all PVC pipes steady and quiet.
- CleanPump Stands: These sump pump stands are installed to raise the pumps off of the bottom of the liner. Any silt or sediment that settles on the bottom of your sump pit will be kept away from your pump. These stands also allow for height adjustment of the pump if necessary.
Sump pumps should always be installed with a perimeter drain system to ensure that all water is drained to the sump pit and removed from the crawl space.
